Student of the Month Criteria 2020 - 2021:
3 students will be selected each month:
- 1 from beginners
- 1 from grades 1 - 4
- 1 from grade 5 and up
- The student must achieve or exceed their daily practice goal each week for the entire month. ...remember that I can determine how much you’ve practiced by listening to your material. Practice everything on the assignment weekly and record in delegated boxes.
- Use given fingering throughout the lesson in all the music.
- Learn assigned technique and be able to play with perfect fingering 1st time
- Count aloud during practice and at lesson at all times during the month. Use metronome as requested.
- Learn music the JAM way for students 3rd year and above: 1 or 2 lines a day 5x RH, 5x LH, 8X HT
- 1 point for each smelly sticker earned
- Have curved fingers when playing
- Complete some memorizing of music......every 12 measures = 1 point
- Music is played with attention to dynamics in each piece.
- Complete something extra that is correct and not requested. Wow me
*Each lesson each student will get a mark out of 10 and it will be recorded. Each item of the above list is equal to a point.
*The winners each month will be posted on the bulletin board in the waiting room as well as congratulated in the monthly newsletter.
*Each winner’s name will be entered in the draw for 3 extra cash prizes at the year- end recital.
*Trophies will be awarded to each Student of the Month winner at the year-end recital.
